You may already know that I'm super inspired by people with unconventional careers. People who throw caution to the wind, make their own path in life, and become wildly successful at it are my heroes. I'm inspired by these people because I secretly wish to be one of them. However, the incessant voice in my head that tells me I need a job with a 401K in order to feel "safe" is hard to mute. So while I choose to listen to that voice, I spend much of my time on the internet looking up people who don't.
Gala Darling is a funky tattooed chick from New Zealand (so she has a really cool accent) who started out as a blogger. She's in her late-20s and began her unconventional career running a fashion blog for people who hated fashion blogs--interesting right? She described her blog as the "anti-Vogue".
Once her blog became popular she noticed that she would get a lot of emails from young girls complaining about their body image. After getting so many emails she decided to publicly speak up about it and started writing about "Radical Self Love". It may sound a little corny, but Gala Darling puts a cool twist on positive affirmations and self-love strategies.

Okay... self-love strategies is cool and everything but what is really interesting about her story is that she rakes in over6-figures from blogging and selling self-love products. Aside from selling ad space on her blog, Gala sells a self-love subscription based audio book that she charges $12 a chapter for. She also sells a Radical Self-Love Letter training program to thousands of subscribers. In addition to this, she runs a "Blogcademy" where she gives workshops on how to make your blog successful.
Bottom line: This girl is making dough while teaching young girls to be confident and lifting their spirits--all while just being herself. That's something I look up to.
Below I'm linking an interview to how she got started in what she does. Its about 30-mins long but really interesting. However, if you don't have 30-mins to spare just check out her site. It's filled with pretty pictures.
